Woke up this morning thinking about what I wanted to fix for our Superbowl snackfest. I realized that for Alex's lifetime, that's really all Superbowl Sunday has been to our family of Cowboy fans. We haven't truly been interested in the actual game for years. Yes, we always watch it and there have been some exciting games. But it just isn't the same when your team isn't involved or when you really don't like either of the two teams playing. So, I thought I would post some pics from the good old days (Jan 1994) when we all got decked out in our Cowboys shirts to watch the game. Yes, that is Max the Friday before the game with his Dallas Cowboys tie and the Cookie Bouquet that my mom sent him at work. The last picture is just a cute picture of Max & Jenny from 1996. Now, back to planning our Superbowl menu. I can't wait to see the new commercials.

Christmas creativity 2011

Had a rough time getting into the creative mood this year. Still managed a couple projects; Christmas cards & a cute holder for those little hand sanitizers from B&BW. The latter was inspired by a fellow Stampin' Up! Demo named Dawn Griffith. Her blog is www.dawnsstampingthoughts.net & is full of great paper crafting projects.
My first project of 2012 is to complete Jenny's high school scrapbook (she's a freshman in college...shame on me!). I have also decided to do a Project 365 with my iPhone camera. It's a very popular thing to do in the scrapbook community & I wanted to do it last year. So glad I didn't. Looking forward to getting my mojo back in every area of my life this year. So, goodbye & good riddance to 2011 & hello 2012. I'm ready for it!

Groundhog Day 2011

I am home for a 2nd day due to snowy/icy conditions outside. Max is on a sales call, Jenny is at a friends house, & Alex is still asleep. What to do? Stage my own Groundhog Day photo of course! My own version of Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow either. Hope his prediction is true & we have an early Spring!

A new catalog & some new cards!

Well, my goal of updating my blog has failed miserably!! I have been making cards but getting them uploaded right away just hasn't happened. We've had a busy late spring/early summer. Thanks to a week of having all 3 of my kids either out of town or working, I had a very relaxing week. I got to spend a lot of quality time with my hubby (we celebrated our 24th anniversary a few weeks early). I also had some valuable time to myself during the day. I'm rested and destressed and ready to take on the second half of this year. When my youngest gets home from camp tomorrow, all three kids will be home for a few days. I'm looking forward to a low key Fourth of July with my family. I hope all of you have a happy & safe Fourth too!!

Now onto Stampin' Up! stuff...

Our new 2010-2011 Idea Book is here!! It debuted July 1 and is full of so many great things. The color renovation, new In-Colors, stamps, paper, punches (an owl punch!!), ribbon, and much, much more!! You can click on the link to the right and see it all for yourself. I will be making cards this month with some of the new items I ordered last month during our demonstrator preview & posting them for you. Woodgrain paper & brads are not Stampin' Up!

I made two graduation cards in different school colors using this easy technique:

Using Bride Specialty Paper, ink up a brayer with any color ink pad. Roll the ink across the paper. Repeat until you have covered the entire paper evenly. Using a cotton ball, rub over the paper. The foil portion of the paper will show thru and the paper will be custom colored any way you want!

I finally made a card!

May is a busy card month for me. Between Mother's Day, my oldest turning 21, & 3 graduation cards, I've got to get to work! I've hard a hard time getting back into "card making mode". I sat down last night to make a card for a dear friend & it came together pretty quickly. I was inspired by another demo's ideas for the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt from the last Stampin' Up! mini catalog. The stamp set, Vintage Vogue is also from the same mini but it will be included in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book July 1!

Stampin' Up! Color Renovation

Have you heard the news?! Stampin' Up! is renovating their color families! I am very excited about the changes that are being made. Stampin' Up! has put a lot of thought and research into the colors that are retiring, the In-Colors they have decided to bring back (!), & the realignment of the new color families. Please see my sidebar for a link to a .pdf you can print to see the new families and also the retiring colors.

Future In-Colors will stick around for 2 years instead of 1. Yay!

The retiring colors will be available until the end of June. Contact me to order ink pads, ink refills, cardstock, & accessories in the colors you are sad to see go. The new color families, 5 new colors, and new In-Colors will all debut July 1 in the brand new Stampin' Up! Idea Book. I can hardly wait!
